The Brief
The Unseen
New York City has no shortage of places to go. But for families with young children, the options are surprisingly divided. Cafés are made for adults. Play spaces are made for kids. Parents are often forced to choose between enjoying themselves or entertaining their little ones.
Mimloo saw an opportunity to create something different. Not another coffee shop with a play corner, or another playroom with mediocre coffee, but a place intentionally designed for both worlds to exist together.
The challenge wasn't simply creating a family-friendly café. It was creating a space that felt calm instead of chaotic, magical instead of overstimulating, and memorable for children without leaving parents behind.
The Solution
The Shift
We built the brand around a simple idea: The Land of Little Bigs.
A whimsical world where children are the locals and adults are the visitors. Here, kids rule with kindness, imagination shapes the landscape, and parents are invited to slow down, sip their coffee, and simply enjoy being present.
This story shaped every part of the identity. The wordmark was designed with soft, organic curves that feel almost sculpted from clouds, cushions, or spilled milk. A lovable cast of illustrated friends transforms Mimloo into a place that feels inhabited long before you arrive, while dreamlike landscapes of star-filled rivers, cozy cabins, floating clouds, and gentle valleys turn every visit into another chapter of the story.
Every element was designed to balance wonder with calm, creating an experience that feels playful without becoming overwhelming.
The Unforgettable
The result is more than a café. It's a world children can't wait to return to and a place parents genuinely enjoy staying. Mimloo transforms an everyday coffee break into a shared family ritual, where little ones feel seen, grown-ups can finally exhale, and every visit feels like stepping into a story.
Because the best family spaces aren't built for kids or adults. They're imagined for both.
